  • Birštona – relaksācijas stūrītis Lietuvā, netālu no Kauņas

Birštona - a relaxation spot in Lithuania, near Kaunas

Birštona is like Jūrmala, just without the sea. Instead of the sea, this Lithuanian town is situated by a river, along which you can take leisurely walks. Missing the fresh sea air, though? Worry not! There is a mineral water evaporation tower that produces "healthy" air. The leisurely atmosphere of this resort town is complemented by spa hotels. And for a complete holiday package, there is also a viewing tower rising above the treetops.

  • Polija – Orlich Gniazd ainavu parks un Varšava.

Poland - Orlich Gniazd Landscape Park and Warsaw.

Poland never ceases to amaze. Did you know that there's a route from Krakow to Czestochowa that passes by 25 medieval castles and castle ruins? It sounds intriguing. "Skeletons" of former glory are always fascinating. And a part of this castle route is located in a landscape park where you can also see large stone formations. Even more intriguing.

This time, we will explore the Czech Republic while passing through, on our way from Vienna to Poland. But that certainly doesn't mean that adventures will be lacking! On the contrary, surprises await us – there will be caves full of stalactites with underground waters, tunnels, and even an angel. And a small, charming Czech mountain town with streets worthy of picture books awaits us too. It's the only place in the world where making Štramberk ears is allowed. Would you like to know what those are?

  • Ko apskatīt Šveicē? 4,5 dienu ceļojums uz Šveici.

What to see in Switzerland? 4.5-day trip.

Have you ever been to a place that is so beautiful it made you want to cry? For me, that place is Switzerland. The Gorges de la Jogne looks like a fairyland. And the promenade of Lake Montreux feels like a garden of paradise. But Geneva surprises you with its giant fountain and warms you up with bubbling cheese fondue. Yes, it might sound cheesy, but I almost cried from how grateful I was for the opportunity to experience all this beauty. So I want to take you on a little virtual journey through this blog post.

  • Ko apskatīt Ženēvā? Šveices ceļojuma 3./4. diena

What to see in Geneva? 3rd/4th day of the Swiss trip.

3. Šveices ceļojuma diena

Let's climb a mountain - Petit Mont Rond. Switzerland travel day 3

When you're in Switzerland but dream of eating a French baguette from a French boulangerie on top of a French mountain... On a more serious note, there aren't any significant mountains in Switzerland near Geneva. The mountains visible from Lake Geneva are actually located in France. As my friends joke, it's a fair arrangement—Switzerland gets Lake Geneva while France gets the mountains. That's why when we wanted to go for a hike, we had to cross over the French border.

  • Broka. Pasakaina daba un šokolāde. Šveices ceļojuma 2. diena

Brock. Nature and chocolate. Day 2 of the Swiss trip

What better way to describe Switzerland than with chocolate, a fabulously beautiful natural park, and a castle on top of a mountain? You could say that Brock is the perfect calling card for Switzerland. So let's say goodbye for a day to the blue water of Lake Geneva (if you've been following this journey from the beginning) or to your everyday sights (if you just found this article). And take a virtual trip to the corner of the earth where there are many waterfalls, and it's possible to learn more about the oldest chocolate brand in Switzerland.

  • Montro (Montreux). Šveices ceļojuma 1. diena

Montreux - Day 1 of the Switzerland trip

The Swiss city of Montreux looks like a dream and smells like money. But we stayed away from the casinos and expensive hotels. Instead, we wandered around panoramic views of the bright blue waters of Lake Geneva, flowers, a fairy-tale castle, and houses with colorful shutters in search of the peace Freddie Mercury spoke about.

  • Pakrojas muižas laternu festivāls + ko apskatīt Šauļos?

Pakruojis manor lantern festival + what to see in Šiauliai?

Do you want to turn a dark winter night into a trip to a wonderland? Holiday lights have a special magic that can make this dream come true. The Asian lanterns of the Pakruojis manor light festival tell a slightly different story than the one we are used to hearing at Christmas. It's a story that will warm you up - about dragons, tigers, and the sound of drums. But there is also a reindeer and a decorated Christmas tree hiding somewhere there. And if it's hard to convince yourself to drive such a long distance just for one evening - do as I did and combine a visit to Pakruojis with a small excursion to Šiauliai.
